Her journey began with her successful career at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois. The company relocated her to Miami, Florida in 1999 to create an e-Business division and lead the efforts of a complex system migration of Caterpillar dealers in Latin America to a new ERP system. Her passion and drive to help organizations fix problems, provide business coaching, and increase revenue continues today. In 2011, she launched her business Southern Connections, Inc.

Marlene is a seasoned professional with a diverse skill set in Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Project Management and IT. She is a dynamic leader with a proven track record for consistently delivering results, developing people, and cultivating partnerships and commercial relationships with clients. She has a bachelor's degree in e-Business and a master's degree in Marketing. Southern Connections, Inc. is Small Business Enterprise Certified (SBE) and County Business Enterprise Certified (CBE).

Marlene's hobbies include oil painting and photography. She and her husband also enjoy spending time with family and friends at their beach house in Huehuete, Nicaragua.
